Hazardous Material Disposal & Recycling

Genesee Fire Rescue does not accept hazardous waste, fire extinguishers, batteries or prescription drugs for recycling.

However, Jefferson County’s Rooney Road Recycling Center recycles most types of household hazardous chemicals and wastes. Many household chemicals pose a serious health hazard if not properly handled, stored and disposed. For more information on the materials they accept, any associated costs, or scheduling an appointment, visit them at Rooney Road Recycling.
