Genesee Fire Rescue CARES Update

Genesee Fire Rescue is pleased to announce that our CARES program received grant funding from the Foothills Regional Emergency Medical & Trauma Advisory Council! This funding has allowed us to purchase and make available to our community members a variety of risk prevention products at no charge.

As part of this funding, we have purchased items including:

  • Combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
  • Stovetop fire suppressors to prevent kitchen fires
  • Reflective bands or lights to promote pedestrian and bicycle visibility
  • Non-slip bath or shower mats
  • Non-slip gripper socks
  • Bathroom grab bars (with installation assistance)
  • Motion-sensing path lights
  • Reach tools to reduce unsafe climbing or overreaching
  • Child proofing kits (cabinet locks, outlet covers, corner bumpers, and stair gates)
  • Bike/skateboard/scooter helmets for children

For more information about our CARES program, or if you or someone you know is in need of any of these resources, please contact Kris Kleiner at 303-526-1230 x4 or kkleiner@geneseefire.org!
